I’m Elisabeth van der Wilt but everyone who gets to know me, calls me Lisa.

Since I was eleven years old and I learned about the fascinating powers the female body has. Learning about birth, fertility, and conception even, made me so excited to become a grown-up.

I have been waiting ever since. Even though I just turned twenty, some days I feel the old soul in me come out, while other days I feel a child at heart.

Being a doula was one of the best choices I ever made. I get to be there for some of the most exciting parts of someone’s life. In the time of fertility, the beautiful moments of pregnancy and birth, or during those days of postpartum.

This job has allowed me to meet incredible women and I get more and more inspiration from each family I help. Seeing each and every one in their lives doing these wonderful things, it’s powerful stuff.

-Helping Families Since 2018-

The empathic in me can get a bit emotional at times thinking about past families, and the idea of helping new ones.

Something I love about this job is the ability to help someone, we all know that the  Greek meaning of the word doula long time ago means servant.
I don’t see myself as a servant, but I love the idea of serving you with the things you need. Whether it be physically, informationally, or emotionally (one of my favourites is emotional support) supporting YOU  and your family is what I love.

Ever since I started my journey as a doula I have loved every second of it: every book I read, every test, every new course, all the people I have met, the different things I learn, my YouTube playlist of birth videos, every birth-related movie I have watched to compare media to reality has been one incredible journey. I love it and will always love it.

It’s not just the babies, it’s not just about birth, it’s not just the incredible reality that this exists and it’s not something someone just wrote about in a story. Seeing my first birth has been one of the most incredible experiences of my life, helping that family during that experience will sit in my memories forever. Everyone knows too, as it has changed me as a person, that experience gave me a new foundation for my career, and when helping my first postpartum family came into play, I jumped for joy!

Getting that call and helping that family added another layer of support to my career. I learned so many things from them, and it has been building blocks to build my tower of support, not just to the families I have helped but to all the future families.

When I’m not busy helping as many people as I can I spend my days with a few of my other hobbies. I am a movie buff, a bit of a gamer, and a reader, I love historical things and it helps inspire the different outfits I wear, and I am a musical fan, dreaming to live in a musical for a little while.

But now that I have my foundation and layers to support my business what’s next you may ask? I want to support families in feeling good about themselves, learning to be the best self-advocate and to stand up for what you believe in and what you want for these important moments of your life. I want to help people who feel they don’t have a voice whether it be from race, from VBAC families to those who are plus size and told you shouldn’t be having a kid till you have lost weight. (Can you believe this?) I want young teens to learn all about this and their bodies. So, when it comes to their time in life, they will have the knowledge they will require for this world. I want to be there and help YOU in any way I can.

Can I help you? Can I support you through these times in your life?
