My mother was 35 when she had me. My dad wanted a home birth and my mother didn’t – she thought it was unsafe for a woman of her “age” to be delivering at home.
Although many times since we’ve been born (me and my three siblings), she tells me how she wishes she had a birth at home.
A friend of my mother’s was a doula, and when first learning it was a career and not just a hobby, it felt like the universe expanded, and I had found my calling.
Since then, I’ve continuously advanced in my career to put a focus on women over thirty – ensuring their supported during their reproductive years, but also returning us to those holistic roots – because there is so much out there for us to know.
Providing loving and non biased support for women going through the stages of the reproductive journey.
