Is there a Baby on the Way?
Are you expecting a new bundle of joy and wondering what you’re going to do now?
Maybe you want to feel empowered and be respected during your pregnancy and birth journey.
Maybe you want more than just the mainstream medical model or you’re looking for someone who will be there from the start till the end of this part of the journey.
As a holistic doula, my techniques won't conflict with the guidance you receive from your medical team. To design the best program for you and your circumstances, I work hard on collaborating with you, having it done uniquely with you in mind.
What is a Birth Doula?
The foundation of any good doula is to provide the following:
- Emotional Support
- Physical Support
- Informational Support
What is a doula? The Greek word doula means “woman caregiver”. But now if you look it up it defines a trained woman who provides support during pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
Even if you already have a birth partner, whether it may be a family member to a friend, a doula can give assistance and guidance.
A doula is never there to judge the choices you make and is only there to help emotionally, physically, and with informational support throughout the wonderful and intense experience.
The presence of a doula will also give whoever your birth team is the time they need to take breaks and they will know you are safe and well taken care of.
Doulas are trained in all aspects of birth and pregnancy and can help in such a way that is invaluable.
Doula Studies Demonstrate:
- 50% reduction in overall cesarean rate
- 25% decrease in length of labor
- 40% reduction in oxytocin use
- 60% less requests for epidural
- Less painful labor and delivery
- Healthier babies
- Less PP Depression
- Increased family bonding
- Positive breastfeeding relationships
- Doulas compliment and enhance the father or birth-partner ’s role

“Elisabeth's cheerful personality made it so easy to connect with her. I felt like I could share anything with her, we just clicked. The care and selflessness she has when it comes to being there for her clients is huge. I felt so cared for and safe, during labor and in the postpartum session. I'm very grateful for Elisabeth. She made childbirth a little easier. Thank you.”
“Had the opportunity to have Elizabeth for my first pregnancy and birth! She was very attentive to all my needs and always provided me with support and very knowledgeable. Very friendly and easy to get along with!”
