Hope you are having a wonderful Induction Season! Do you know anyone with a due date around the upcoming holidays (New Years and Christmas) these are dates you don’t see too many babies born on?
December 25 is the second least common day to be born on. Ranking first would be Leap day, and another uncommon day is January 1.
For those who may be feeling pressure to induce earlier than 39 weeks, ACOG now recommends elective induced labour should not occur before 39 weeks of gestation. We hear the most common “reasons”: “Your baby is too big”, or “low amniotic fluid”.
Now there are times when inductions are needed, I was due fathers’ day and born in July and my mom was induced and there were a few rounds of being induced.
But that is why you must have informed consent, and this is something you should learn more about. You can ask as many questions as you want, and you also want to make sure to use your B R A I N.
Check further points about inductions in later blog posts if you want hands-on questions you are more than welcome to email me or send me a text and I will help.
If you want, you can join Womb Buddies on FB and in April 2020 we will be doing an Induction talk.
