Are you thinking of getting pregnant right now? Something that comes with planning a pregnancy is the questions and talk you can have beforehand. If you are already expecting these are things to go over at any time to prepare yourselves.
As a couple, you may not agree on everything that happens.
Guess what?
THAT’S OKAY! Some things require compromise and that’s normal as everyone has different ways, they do things.
How do you feel about discipline? What kind of methods are you wanting to take when it comes to punishing the child(ren)? Making a plan and putting the plan into action it becomes reality. Write down how you feel at this time and reflect in the future. You are stronger as a team.
What are you doing about religion? Are you both of the same religion? Does one have a religion and the other not? Before your relationship, it may not have mattered but when it comes to your child, being on the same side of things can be helpful.
How about money? Do you have enough money for the child? Do you believe in saving for college? Do you budget? Will you plan meals to save money? Will the child have an allowance if so, how much? Tooth fairy money?
What are your feelings on circumcision? Sometimes this is a religious choice, sometimes it’s cosmetic, some believe it’s good while others don’t. Before finding out the gender you should have a talk, and both decide on how you feel about it?
What are the Unexpected Challenges? How will you handle them? These are the questions you have to ask yourself and then talk with your partner about it.
